Oleg Jelezko, Managing Partner, Chief Executive Officer
Responsible for the investment strategy and all aspects of operations of the Da Vinci Capital Group Ltd companies. Mr. Jelezko has 15 years of investment management, banking and management consulting experience in the UK, Russia and other emerging markets. Prior to Da Vinci Capital, Mr. Jelezko was a Managing Director at Renaissance Capital, Moscow, Head of Equity Structured Products Group, where he built a leading alternative investment franchise in CIS markets with 40 people in several teams, significant AUM, above-market returns and 30 funds and investment products. Prior to Renaissance, Mr. Jelezko was a Director in Emerging Markets Equities Sales and Trading in Credit Suisse First Boston in London. From 1992 to 1998, Mr. Jelezko worked as a consultant in Andersen Consulting and McKinsey & Co in the UK, the Czech Republic and Russia. Mr. Jelezko’s experience includes investment management, structuring, principal investment and M&A deals in Russia, Europe and South Africa, private equity activities, development of equity-linked products, corporate strategy and operational management.
Steven R. Philipp, CFA, Partner, Chief Operating Officer
Responsible for the operations, risk management and investment policy of Da Vinci Capital Group Ltd companies. Steven has 23 years of experience running international capital markets businesses: 14 years in fund management in Europe and the USA, followed by nine years in investment banking/brokerage, in various senior management capacities. The positions included Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of several asset management companies in Austria, the Head of Research - Emerging European Equities, followed by Head of Capital Markets at RZB Austria (London Branch), four years as the Head of Emerging European Equities within the UniCredit Group’s investment banking subsidiary, and most recently as COO for one of the UniCredit Group’s newly acquired subsidiaries, CA IB International Markets Ltd (London). Mr. Philipp is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has a BA from ORU (Oklahoma, USA), having studied History, German Literature and Business.
Gleb Yakovlev, Partner
Responsible for the trading strategies of equity and fixed income portfolios, also for the short-term liquidity management of the Da Vinci CIS Private Sector Growth Fund. Mr Yakovlev was most recently a Director with Renaissance Capital, where he was responsible for funds trading, structured products and a $1.5bn equity finance portfolio. He has worked with Oleg Jelezko for nearly four years in Renaissance Capital, and was instrumental in structuring, marketing and trading of specialized funds and a number of other investment products. Prior to joining Renaissance Mr Yakovlev worked with Oleg Jelezko in Credit Suisse First Boston, where he had responsibility for custody operations, and then subsequently joined International Moscow Bank. Mr Yakovlev holds an MA in International Economics from Moscow University of International Relations.
Natalia Ivanova, Partner
Responsible for Da Vinci CIS Private Sector Growth Fund, Ms. Ivanova has more than 10 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and asset management, working for large Russian and foreign companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Sector Capital (EPIC), MC-BBL (Fleming), AGA Management. Ms. Ivanova was most recently a Director and fund manager of the Renaissance Pre-IPO Fund. Ms Ivanova has executed 12 deals in pre-IPO fund over the last one and a half years with three exits and IRRs of 20% plus. Ms Ivanova holds MA in International Economics from Moscow University of International Relations (MGIMO) and ÌÂÀ from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business. She has passed Level 2 of the CFA Institute program.
Evgeny Fetisov, Managing Director
An experienced real estate professional, Evgeny has joined Da Vinci Capital from New Square, a fast-growing Moscow-based commercial and residential real estate developer and manager specialising in comprehensive land - development projects. Initially as COO, and then later as CEO of New Square CRE (commercial real estate subsidiary), he was responsible for the business set-up and development, including establishing business processes, corporate strategy, sourcing of project finance and the management of the portfolio of commercial real estate projects. During 2001 - 2003 he worked for McKinsey & Co as a Business Analyst, and from 1997 at Citibank as a Foreign Exchange Trader and Marketing Officer responsible for derivative products. Mr. Fetisov attended the Real Estate Management Programme of Harvard Business School in 2007 and graduated from the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation (International Economics) in 1996.
Igor Lavrentiev, CFA, Investment Director
Responsible for the investment strategy, origination and execution of the deals. Before joining Da Vinci Capital Mr. Lavrentiev worked at Unifund, a Swiss private investment fund focusing on public and private investments in the emerging markets, and at a leading Russian investment bank Troika Dialog, Investment Banking Department. Mr. Lavrentiev is a CFA charterholder and a member of the United Kingdom Society of Investment Professionals. Mr. Lavrentiev graduated with Honors from the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, International Economic Relations department.
Alexander Orlov, CFA, Head of Research, Investment Director
Mr. Orlov joined Da Vinci Capital from Arbat Capital where he was successfully combining roles of Portfolio Manager and Head of Research. He joined the company in 2001 as an Analyst and covered Industrial Consumer Staples and Discretional sectors, FOREX and global economy. Between October 2002 and April 2005 Alexander performed Chief Strategist role and started to work as a Portfolio Manager and had up to $60mn under management. Mr. Orlov holds a MS in Finance and Banking degree from Moscow State University.
Konstantin Pravednikov, Analyst
Responsible for the financial analysis of companies as well as deal structuring and execution. Mr. Pravednikov joined Da Vinci Capital from UBS in Moscow, where he worked as a research analyst in the telecoms sector. Prior to UBS Mr. Pravednikov worked at Renaissance Capital in Oleg Jelezko’s group as an analyst in structured products. He has an MA in Economics from the New Economic School in Moscow, and an MS in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Pavel Volichenko, Analyst
Responsible for the financial analysis of companies as well as deal structuring and execution. Mr. Volichenko joined from Independent Mortgage Bureau, where he worked as a Director responsible for regional expansion. He has experience of working for aluminium giant SUAL Holding (Investment Department) and Price Waterhouse Coopers (M&CC, Research). Mr. Volichenko holds an Economics/Math degree from Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Irina Sidorenko, Administration and Operations Manager
Mrs. Sidorenko has more than 10 years experience as a program manager for US AID projects in Moscow.
Dmitri Yukhnovets, Chief Information Officer
Mr. Yukhnovets provides leadership and management for all information technology services, and is responsible for the IT infrastructure, IT development and all business applications. Mr. Yukhnovets joined from a software consulting company. He has more than 10 year of IT experience working for Renaissance Capital and Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was deputy head of IT and head of IT development in Moscow.
